The Narcissist Regime

History does not repeat itself, but it often rhymes

- Mark Twain

Members of a narcissistic family are victims of soul murder. Regardless of their role or place in the hierarchy, their actualisation was hijacked by a false self. In a narcissistic family, nobody wins. The concept of winners and losers goes out the window when you become aware of the exhausting struggle taking place, and the price each person pays to stay afloat. When nobody is permitted to actualise and express their True Self, everyone loses; the narcissist included.

A person raised in a narcissistic family often falls into systems which allow them to repeat their role. The eldest or golden children seek out relationships and social structures where they can be admired or in control, the lost children find positions where they can stay out of the limelight and avoid being put under pressure, and the enablers seek out relationships and places where they can reprise the role of helper.
